The Global Health Security Conference 2026 was recently featured in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Around the World newsletter, highlighting the important discussions, research and partnerships advanced at GHS2026 in Kuala Lumpur.
CDC joined global health leaders, scientists and policymakers from around the world to share operational lessons, scientific findings and practical strategies to strengthen outbreak detection, preparedness and rapid response. CDC experts delivered more than 20 oral presentations and posters, drawing on real-world outbreak responses across more than 40 countries.
The newsletter also highlighted discussions on countering deliberate biothreats, global partnership and pandemic preparedness, as well as research presented at GHS2026 on the economic value of prevention, strengthened mpox response systems in Sierra Leone and Ghana, and genomic surveillance in Viet Nam.
We are proud that GHS2026 provided a platform for these timely conversations and for the exchange of knowledge that supports stronger, more connected global health security systems.
